Every year, we lose the equivalent of the population of a small town because of smoking, which is a major demographic problem for a country naturally decreasing in numbers. According to the latest figures, between 1990 and 2017, 882,000 people died in diseases connected to smoking in Hungary - Tamás Joó, healthcare economist at Semmelweis University, presented the harmful effects of smoking in an interview with Portfolio.
