MKIK Presented Its Cybersecurity Programme at an International Professional Forum

2026. október 28.

The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) was also represented at the Cross-Border Cyber Funding & Matchmaking Day, an international cybersecurity event held in Brno on 22 October 2026. In his presentation, András Elter, Cybersecurity Programme Manager at MKIK, introduced the Chamber's Cybersecurity Programme and highlighted its role in strengthening the digital security of Hungarian businesses.

The professional event, jointly organised by the National Coordination Centres of the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia, focused on current cybersecurity funding opportunities under the European Union's Digital Europe Programme, international cooperation and joint project initiatives.

The aim of the event was to facilitate the establishment of cross-border partnerships, support the formation of competitive international project consortia and provide practical assistance in accessing EU funding opportunities. The programme placed particular emphasis on the DEP-11 calls for proposals under the Digital Europe Programme, including AI-based cybersecurity solutions, the development of cybersecurity capacities among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and support for preparing to comply with EU regulatory requirements.

During the event, András Elter presented MKIK's Cybersecurity Programme, one of the key objectives of which is to help Hungarian businesses – particularly small and medium-sized enterprises – prepare for constantly evolving cybersecurity challenges and new national and European Union regulatory requirements.

The Chamber's initiative plays an important role in raising cybersecurity awareness among businesses, strengthening their digital resilience and creating the conditions for more secure digital operations.

The professional forum provided a valuable opportunity to expand international connections and explore potential areas of cooperation. MKIK's representative held discussions with Hungarian professional stakeholders as well as representatives from several European Union Member States.

Particular attention was given to opportunities for joint participation in EU funding calls, the establishment of international consortia and practical solutions that could contribute to improving the cybersecurity preparedness of businesses.

Strengthening international professional cooperation is of particular importance to MKIK, as gaining insights into European experiences, best practices and funding opportunities can directly support the digital development of Hungarian businesses.

The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry intends to continue playing an active role in European cybersecurity cooperation, helping to ensure that Hungarian businesses can benefit as widely as possible from EU expertise, development opportunities and funding resources.
