In an interview with the Hungarian News Agency MTI, Minister of Finance Mihály Varga said that two important measures of the economic action plan announced in May came into force on Wednesday. Minister Varga added that the plan’s aim is to maintain the economic growth amid a possible slowdown in Europe.
The measure to ease businesses from advance tax payments may further streamline their tax administration, while the expansion of tax relief for developments will pave the way for more investments in Hungary, Varga told MTI. The government wishes to ensure that domestic growth remain at least two percentage points above the EU average in the coming years, he said.
